Kara the eldest son of Vishrawas and Shaka and related to Ravana decided to build a Shiva temple to perform penance. The other sons are Dhooshana and Tirisira. Kara was also the commander of Tirisira’s army during his rule here. This Aludayar Temple is one built by Kara in Uyyakondan Tirumalai.
