  Temple History:

Years ago, there lived in this place, dense with Kondrai trees, a man of Yadava community.  He was a milk vendor.  It was also a time when strange diseases attacked the people resulting in manpower shortage for farm works.  There was none to irrigate the lands.  All the sowing went waste.  Monsoon also failed.  There was acute scarcity for drinking water too.  People of the place fell at the feet of Mother of the World for remedy.  Mother decided to bring total prosperity and happiness to the people of the place.  She hid Herself in the ground.
When the old milk vendor passed through the place, he was stuck by the roots of a Kondrai tree.  The milk pot fell down and flowed on the ground.  This happened every day despite his careful walking through the place.  Worried elder man cut the roots of the tree and was shocked and surprised to see blood and milk flowing from the place.  The villagers assembled there and dug the place further.  Mother appeared as a beautiful idol.  Sooner she was taken out from the pit, it began to rain heavily.  All wells, tanks and other water resources began overflowing.  Sown seeds began to germinate.  The rain that drenched the people also cured all their skin diseases.
