About 60 years ago, a few devotees were worshipping Lord Aiyappa with a simple picture in this place.  In the 1968, they built a small temple installing idols of Lords Aiyappa, Vinayaka, Muruga, Shiva and Mother Bhagavati.  In the year 1969, the consecration of the temple was celebrated presided by Peria Neelakandan of Palakkadu Illam.  All pujas are performed according to Kerala tradition in the temple.  It is noteworthy that Melshanti of the temple Sri Ezhikodu Sasi Namboodri is now chosen as the Melshanti of Sabarimala Aiyappa temple.  This is an added glory to the temple.
