Devotees carry milk pots for Lord, tonsure and do Angapradakshina – rolling around the outer prakara in a reclining position.

 Greatness Of Temple:

There is a hill near this place called Ramakkal Malai.  Perumal had played some miracles here.  Looking at the hill from a distance, it shows a soft looking Perumal. The part that bled when cut by an axe appears as the Nama – the Vaishnavite tilak symbol of Perumal.  This natural appearance speaks volumes of the glory of Perumal.  The temple at the foot of the Western Ghats is about 6 km far from Kombai.  According to locals, Perumal is growing taller year by year

  Temple History:

There were a large number of cow sheds in the western part of Kombai.  A vendor was taking the milk from here to people at the foot of the hills.  Each day he was hit at a particular place and lost his milk.  One day, he took an axe also with his milk.  When he was hit at the place as usual, he dug the place with his axe but was shocked to see the place bleeding.  He returned home in fear.  Same night, Lord Perumal informed the zamin of the place – land lord – in his dream of His presence in the place.  Lord also informed of the test the milk vendor met with and asked the Zamin to build a temple there.  The villagers went to Ramakkal hill, found the place and Perumal and built this temple.

Special Features:

Miracle Based: Lord Prumal is a swayambumurthy. The Ramakkal hill where Perumal played miracle looks as a soft Perumal from a distance and as the Nama of the Lord at the part where it was hit by an axe.
