  Temple History:

Pariyur is noted for its agricultural activity.  Once, due to failure of monsoon, famine gripped the place.  People installed a small Perumal idol and prayed for rain and restoration of farm activities.  Lord responded their prayers.  People of the place later built a big temple and organized regular pujas.
