  In this holy place, Aanjaneyar is facing southward and graces us. The temple is situated in the banks of river Vaigai and facing south and it is to be noted that the waters just touch the doorstep even when there is high flo

Along with this holy temple are the Sanctum of Lord Siva, Vinayaka, Naagar and Pandi, Munisamy. Curd rice is offered as ‘naivedyam’ (food-offering).

  Temple History:
     
 

The hearsay information is that the Sarboji kings who ruled Tanjore decided to have a separate temple for themselves at Madurai and so constructed this temple at the banks of river Vaigai. They specially brought this Aanjaneya icon from Andhra, consecrated it and began worshipping.
