11.1:  The honey bee goes to a flower drinks the honey in it, and returns the same honey to us. Because of that the smell of the flower or taste or coolness or gentleness are not affected. In the same way the offering s made to God, never loses their juiciness. The cloud with the help of the rays of the sun, drink or absorb the water and gives it back to us as rain. In the same way the God by accepting our offerings by HIS mere sight, protects us with his compassion on us.

11.2;   Neivethyam should be offered  both the end of the Abhishegam  and  archana.

11.3:  Manthrannam, Neivethyam:  Manthram is a secret. Since it emanates through Teeth, tongue and chin Manthras are called Confidential one. That which is offered  secretly is called Manthrannam. That Main  offering (usually cooked rice called Mahaneivethyam)  should be placed in a vessel and kept on a tripod(Mukkali in tamil) and should be surrounded by other cooked food items in small vessels.Water should be sprinkled on each one of them by uttering Hrudaya Manthram. It should be considered as Divine nectar and showing Thenu Muthra and with a flower should be placed on the Right hand of the idol. Along with that water also should be offered for drinking.

11.4  The offering that contains hair, worm, sand and husk(Umi in tamil) is not a suitable offering. Half cooked rice, over cooked rice(Kuzhaintha saaatham in tamil), cooked rice with bad odour also should not be offered to God as food offering. The offered food should not be very hot also.

11.5  Separate food offerings are there for each face of Lord Shiva facing each separate directions. Accordingly each face has separate names. Plain cooked rice for Eesaanya face, Sweet rice(Sarkarai Pongal in tamil) for the Thath purusha face, Seasame(El in tamil) rice for Akora face, Curd rice for Vama deva face, Whit Pongal for Sathyojatham  face.

11.6 It is believed that Goddess resides at the tip of betel leaf(Vetrilai in tamil),  Goddess Saraswathi at the centre and Moothevi  at the back side of the betel leaf.

11.7  Only a coconut with full of water inside it, should be offered to God. It should be broken into two equal halves. There will be tuft in each coconut. If tuft of the coconut is removed completely and then broken and offered. it will spell doom for the Government. If broken and  offered without tuft it will spell doom to the country. Hence coconut with a little bit of tuft remaining in it should be offered. And after breaking the coconut even that small remaining portion of the tuft should also be removed  and offered.                                   .

11.8  Offering to Nandhi(Divine Bull):  A mixture of rice, Green gram dhal, jaggery, coconut pieces should be offered as a special offering at Pradhosa time( an hour and half before sun set)

11.9  Putting the curtain:  If curtain is not put during the Neivethya time(special food offering time), the sinners may happen to see it because of which the offering and the pooja associated with it will go waste and become purposeless.
