 Greatness Of Temple:

Lord Perumal comes in procession on the Garuda Vahan each year after one week of the Shiva Parvathi procession.  Lord Kari Varada Raja Perumal appears with Mothers Sridevi and Bhoodevi from the sanctum sanctorum.  Sri Anjaneya is all humility personified in a worshipping posture.  Mother Perundevi Thayar looks all merciful.

  Temple History:

Pallava King Koperum Singan came to the Sri Shiva temple in Veerapandi during his rule.  Standing before Lord Atulya Natheswara, he prayed with closed eyes for the prosperity of the village – abundant food and water for the people and fame to the place as one free of poverty, starvation and diseases.  Lord appeared in the dream of the king and advised him to build another temple in the place.  Nobles of the village were informed of the king’s experience and his plan to build the temple.  Happiness prevailed.  The people of the village expressed their desire to have a temple for Lord Vishnu who scaled down all the three worlds and also to establish the truth that Hari and Hara were but one.  They also told the King that they had to travel long to Tirukovilur for Perumal worship and a temple here near the Shiva temple would spare from the long journey.  The temple came into being next to the then existing Lord Shiva temple.  Thus Pallava King Koperum Singan fulfilled the wishes of his subjects.  Presiding deity is praised as Sri Karia Sevaka Vinnagar Emperuman.  Mother Perundevi Thayar joins Perumal to bless the devotees.  With its twin temples for Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, Veerpandi village became big both in name and fame.
