Temple History: | |
|
|
|
|
Wife of Vallala Maharaja was in her advanced stage of
pregnancy. The child, when born on earth
would cause devastating calamities according to the prophecy of
Maharishis. They sought the help of
Mother Parvathi who came down as a midwife.
The King sought her service for his wife. Using he occasion, Mother Parvathi destroyed
the evil child and no drop of the blood fell on the floor. Knowing the fact, when the king tried to kill
Parvathi, She became furious and beheaded the king. Lord Vishnu as Peddarayan Easan and Shiva as
Utharandaraya with other Devathas came down to cool Parvathi. Yet, as Devi was still furious, Lord Muruga
came down and cooled His Mother, people raised this temple for Lord Muruga and
also performed the consecration. The
temple is under the administration of HR & CE.
