	Mother Kaliamman, Protector Of Crops Appeared In The Dream Of One In The Place And Had Said That She Was In A Tamarind Tree There And Directed Him To Build A Temple For Her. The People Ignored The Dream And Fell The Tree But Were Scared When It Began To Bleed. They Stored The Parts Of The Tree Separately But Only Found The Same Growing Again With Branches. Shocked By The Incident, They Offered Prayers And Padayal (Offerings) To Amman. Amman Appeared Again And Assured Them That She Would Be Their Protector If They Build A Temple. They Collected Funds And Plunged Into The Building Of The Temple. Thus The Kali Amman Temple Came Into Being 300 Years Ago.
