Married women pray for a harmonious life with their husbands.  Those afflicted with Sani planet also pray here to get a release.

Thanks giving:

On the right side pillar before the sanctum of Lord Siva is ‘Siva Anjaneyar’. Adorning Him with silver-colored silk thread (zari) and with the tulsi garland, and by worshipping Him our good dreams will be realized and the effect of the bad dreams will not touch us, is the belief of the devotees. Hence He is called ‘ Dream Anjaneya’. There is also another Anjaneyar in the prakaaram facing north.

 Greatness Of Temple:

The traditional belief is that those afflicted with Sani planet, if they worship this Lord on that day, will be relieved of that misery. Another belief is that if the Lord Anjaneya here is given an abhishekam with senthooram (red powder) and don Him with betel leaves garland, their fear will be assuaged and life will remain calm.  If there are problems between the brothers in the family, by conducting milk abhishekam and offering fruits, the problems will be solved is yet another belief.

Outside the temple, there is a Lingam in a separate sanctum under a pipal tree.  We can enter the sanctum,  conduct milk abhishekam and worship with bael leaves.  In a separate sanctum is ‘brother Vinayakar’ under seven serpents.  Behind the same image is Lord Muruga in the standing posture with His peacock carrier.  This is rare sight to see the brothers in the front and back of the same serpent figure.  Before the sanctum of Ambal is the ‘Navagraha’ mandapam.  Lord Sani’s rage seems to be less as he is in the direct gaze of the Ambal.  Those with Sani affliction by worshipping this Sani Bhagawan will be free from suffering.

Dream effect:   On the right side pillar before the sanctum of Lord Siva is ‘Siva Anjaneyar’.

  Temple History:

Long ago, a devotee was a deep bhaktha of Ekaambareswarar at Kanchipuram.  Once when he wanted to go to the temple on a ‘pradosham’ day, there were many obstacles.  Because there was a delay in his work, his employer also stopped him going to the temple.  In spite of all these troubles, the devotee went to the temple. He became tired on the way and took rest for some time in this holy place.  At that time Lord Siva and Ambal appeared before him and said: “ You need not come such a long way to worship me. I am there as a Swayambu in that place where you’ve taken rest.  Hereafter, you can worship me here.”  History says that this temple was built here after that.
