Greatness Of Temple: | |
The temple is situated among green fields on all four sides. While traditionally Shakti temples face north, this temple is facing south. The Kanngi Temple in the in the Western Ghats is facing south. Both Ambicas are thus facing each other, hence the importance to the temple as She is in the form of the anthill. Chamandi Amman is also worshipped as the Sister of Lord Kambaraya Perumal near Cumbam. During the 9 day car festival at Perumal temple, Chamandi Amman visits the temple to receive gifts from the Brother. Supposing the gifts are not adequate, She will return back dissatisfied, it is said.
