The fire pit (generally clled flower pit) festival is celebrated in the temple on May 1 and 2 each year. During the fasting days, the devotee should wear a garland and use yellow or red clothes only. Women should have at least a red or yellow towel around their necks. If the devotee walks on the fire pit keeping the stomach purely empty, he/she would derive the best benefit they aspire. The crowd on the day would exceed fifty thousand. Also the crowd would be huge on new moon days. |

After performing pujas in the Nagarajar shrine, devotees take a piece of white cloth and a lime to the shrine of the Goddess Santhanalakshmi. Going around the shrine, they tie a cradle with white cloth in the tree for child boon. It is also believed that those addicted to liquor and tobacco are cured of these habits if they worship in this temple. The environment by itself is healthy offering mental peace. | |

Greatness Of Temple: | |
The temple is praised for the high powers it holds drawing many from other states. The belief that Sri Rama returned to Ayodhya through this Manihada Manjakombai adds to its reputation and the symbols of Sri Rama’s feet is worshipped with a deep sense of devotion. A snake is still alive in the sanctum sanctorum of Sri Nagaraja. The other marvel is that the snake had created an underground pathway between Nagaraja temple to Heddai Amman Temple to facilitate its moving between the two shrines. The environment is again an added attraction. |
