Somugasuran got a boon of not to be killed by anyone in all the three worlds from Lord Shiva. With that ego he approached Lord Brahma and snatched all the four Vedas from him and disappeared in to the sea. Brahma explained everything to Tirumal(Vishnu). Tirumal assumed the form of a big fish. The fish went inside the ocean and churned it in search of somugasuran. Thenfound out the asuran who was hiding in the ocean and tortured and killed him. It took back all the Vedas snatched from him and handed them back to Lord Brahma. Yet the blood that oozed out of the body asuran turned the entire sea into red. Therafter that fish which was like a mountain remained in the ocean by spreading its body on all the sides of the ocean. It destroyed and killed all the other fishes remaining in the sea. It did not leave even a single creature that lived in the sea. This news reached the ears of Lord Shiva through the celestials. Lord Shiva consoled them and assumed the form of a fisherman and went to the ocean with a fishing net. HE also took the size and shape similar to that Big fish. By throwing the fishing net in the sea, he captured that big fish. Then HE plucked its eye and fixed in His ring. Having thus lost the eyes, Tirumal who assumed the form of that Big Fish pleaded Lord Shiva to give him back his original form, Lord Shiva gave him back his original form and blessed him. MACHCHA SAMHARA MOORTHI form was taken by Lord Shiva on the request of celestials to kill the Big Fish which was doing atrocities. This Moorthi can be worshipped at the temple in Kanchipuram. This form has been carved in a pillar there.  One should perform archana with Bilva leaves and offer Tamarind rice (Puliyodarai). Lamp should be lit with seasame seed oil (Yellennai vilakku) on Tues days. Business will improve further and there will be opportunities to start new ventures.
