MAKING BABY PIGS AS MINISTERS

The sons of Sakalan who got rid of the curses by the blessings of Lord Soma sundarar were performing Shiva Pooja. They were experts in all arts. Once when Goddess Meenakshi was talking to Sundareswarar she said “Swamy, May I know the reason for giving food and knowledge for the illiterate pigs.?” The Lord replied “Devi, Only human beings have this notion of literate and illiterate. For me all are the same. That is why though the baby pigs cried because of hunger I responded. Because of that those baby pigs got abundant strength, success,  knowledge and maturity. Here after because of their knowledge they will become the ministers of the Pandiyan king and later Shiva Ganas.(Minions of Lord Shiva). That night Lord Sundareswarar appeared in the dream of Raja Raja Pandiyan and said “O” Pandiya, Please add twelve intelligent people living in  Panri malai into your ministry as ministers.”Next day, as per the wish of the God, He brought them from Panri malai. They were given minister posts. He got them married to the daughters of the previous ministers. They with the face of pigs served as the personal guards of the king and protected  him as their own eyes. They were living united as twelve bodies but one soul. They saw to it that the Pandiyan king got success in all the eight directions and got philanthropy, virtue and fame from all the eight directions.  They served the king for several years and then got the posts as Shiva ganams. At thi stage Rajarajan also reached the feet of the God.
