Astabhishegam will be performed to sabarimalai ayyappa swami in the early morning. That is vibhuthi(sacred ash), milk, honey, panchmirtham, ilaneer(cocanut water),sandal, Panner(fragrant water), and pure water. With these eight items abhishegam performed one after another. Neivedyam(food offering) will be trimathuram. This is prepared by mixing Plantain fruit, sugar and honey. Then ghee abishegam will be performed. Before noon 15 deeparathanas will be performed. During this deepa arathana food made from raw rice will be offered. During noon pooja cocanut milk(made by grinding cocanut} Kathali fruit(a variety of plantain}sugar, samba raw rice,dried ginger(sukku),ghee will be mixed and payasam(sweet desert) will be offered as neivedyam. Ayyappa accepts this as his midday meals. This midday meals is called Maha neivedyam.During the pooja at night Appam, Paanagam(combination of dry ginger, sugar mixed in water} will be offered as neivedyam.
