The bhaktha selects the cocanut covered with fibers just as heart is covered by muscles and nerves. The water in the cocanut can be compared to the bad thoughts in the heart of the bhakthas. By piercing a hole in the cocanut and removing the water in it, the bhatha pour cow’s ghee into the cocanut through the hole, which we may call as Navaneetham of good thoughts. After sealing the hole, by thinking Ayyappa’s holy feet in his mind, he put the Irumudi with the cocanut on his head. He carries the same with bhakthi in his mind. Performs abhishegam to Ayyappa with that ghee. That is he makes an offering of his deep bhakthi in his mind. By this act he feels happy having achieved his goal of this birth.
