Perumal is offering HIS blessings in standing pose facing east under Ananda vimana nilayam. Many people know that Tirupathi Venkatlachalapathi means HE is a rich god. But in reality Venkatachlapathy is a debtor. There is no birth for those who read or listen HIS history.
RAJA GOPURAM: The Raja Gopuram is made in a four cornered structure(four angular type). This gopuram was constructed during 3rd century, based on the architecture type of Chola period. Divine images of Anjaneyar, Narasimhar are in this gopuram. This gopuram is called by the name PADIKAAVALI MAHA DWAR.
THREE CORRIDERS: Inside the temple there are three corriders(Prakarams). In this one prakaram is known by the name Sampangi Prathakshinam. Bhakthas are not allowed in this corrider. Here Ptathimai mandapam,Ranga Mandapam,Thirumalairaya mandapam,Chaluva Narasimha Mandapam,Jana mahal,Dwajasthmba Mandapam are situated.
KRISHNA DEVARAYA MANDAPAM: After passing through the gopuram(Tower) we come to the Krishna devaraya mandapam or Prathimai mandapam. In this mandapam idols(images) of Krishna devaraya and his wives Tirumala devi (on the left) and Chinna devi(on the right) are there. On the southern side of this mandapam the idol of Venkatapathy rayar is found. This king ruled Chandragiri area during 1575. Next to him one finds the idols of Achutha raya king(who ruledVijaya nagaram)and his wife Varadaji amma. This mandapam was built during early 16th century.In this mandapam images of Rama breaking the bow, Rama pattabhishegam are chiseled. Krishna leela scenes are also chiseled.
RANGA MANDAPAM: Ranga mandapam is situated in sampangi prathakshina prakaram. During 14th century during the invasion of foreigners in Sri Rangam,the utsava idol of Lord Ranganatha was taken to Tirupathi. It is said that idol was kept in this mandapam. During 1320-1360 period this mandapam was built in Vijayangara style by Sri Ranganatha yagavarayar who ruled this area at that time.
TIRUMALARAYAR MANDAPAM: Tirumalarayar mandapam is situated on the western side of Ranga mandapam. The incident of enquiring the accounts once in a year by the utsavar Malayappa swami by sitting is held in this mandapam. In the pillars of this mandapam images of Mohana devi and Pithabibi are found.
JANA MANDAPAM: Jana Mhal with two divisions is situated on the northern side of Tirumalarayan mandapam. Six pillars in a row there are six rows with a total of 36pillars. There is a swing(oonjal) in the central portion of this mandapam. The oonjal uthsavam of Malayappa swami is held in this swing.
DWJASTHAMBA MANDAPAM: This mandapam is built as per Vaikanasa rules of sasthras. There is a speciality for this mandapam. In all other temples Uthsavams can not be held durin all climatic conditions. Be what ever be the climate Utsavas will be held in during any season.
NADIMIPADI KAAVALI: This temple’s iside tower(gopuram) has this different name. This gopuram’s entrance is situated next to Dwajasthambam. This temple’s doors have silver covering.This temple door is smaller than the outside temple tower. It is believed that if one offers prarthanas(requests to God) those prarthanas are fructified. These temple doors are known by the name Vendivahili.
TIRUMAMANI MANDAPAM: King Mallanna who ruled Chandragiri area during the 15th century,constructed this mandapam. This mandapam having 16 plllars is divided into three portions. Koluvu Srinivasamoorthi idol is placed in this mandapam. In this mandapams there two bells called Tiru mani and Tirumaha mani. These bells will be sounded during neivedyam period. Hence this mandapam is called by the name Tirumamani mandapam. It is also called Muka mandapam. On the eastern side of this mandapam there is a shrine for Karudazhvar and on the northern side Hundiyal mandapam.
BANGARU VAHILI: We go for the darshan of Perumal through a golden gate known as Bangaru vahali beyond Tirumamani mandapam. At the entrance we have the images Dwarapalakas Jaya and Vijayan. The wodden doors of this gate is covered by gold leafs(i.e. gild plated). On these plates Dasavathara (ten incarnations of Lord Maha Vishnu) images are engraved. One will hear at all time suprapatha song as when one enters.
SANCTUM SANCTORAM: Before entering sanctum sanctoram of Venkatachalapathi ther is a square shaped room. This is called by the name Snabana mandapam. The next room after this is called Ramar medai. In this room idols of Ramar,Seetha,Lakshmana along with the uthsava idols of Vishwaksenar and Karudar are kept. Adjascent to Kulasekara Azhwar padi ther is sayana mandapam for sleeping for Boga srinvasan. This known as artha mandapam. Next to this in the karbagraha Venankatachalapathi is in a standing pose six feet in height. On seeing HIM we put our legs without our knowledge in a step called Kulasekara Azhwar step. On putting our legs on this step we immediately remember Kulasekara azhwar. At that moment we remember his song
