Tirupathi means it is encompassed with innumerable wonders. The mere darsan of Tirupathi Perumal  produces a sensational feeling in our mind. Every aspect found there produces wonder. The statute of Ezhumalaiyan is smeared with medicated camphor(pachchai karpooram). This medicated camphor is a chemical.  It is an acid with corroding property. If you apply this chemical in an ordinary granite, the granite will explode. But if applied on stones in ‘sila thoranam” which remain in a very tight condition past several crores of years these granites never break or explode, The statute of Ezhumalaiyan is smeared with medicated camphor on all the 365 days. Yet not even a crack appears on it.

Just 1 k.m from Tirupathi temple very rare granites called “sila thoranam” are available. This granite is not found anywhere in the world except in this location. The age of this granites is said to be 250 crore old. The body of ezhumalaiyan made of granite is equivalent to it. The temperature of this Ezhumalaiyan statue is 110 degree F. at all times. In any black granite in some part of it sculpter’s chisel mark will be found. If it is an metal statue the melted portion mark will be found somewhere on it. But here are no such marks anywhere on the body of Ezhumalaiyan’s statute. One will find coarseness on the surface any granite. But on the body of Ezhumalaiayn one finds very intricate works and that too in a polished manner. The forehead ornament(Netri chutti), ear rings, eye brows and nagaparanam found on the body of Ezhumalaiyan looks very bright as if it has been polished.
