13.1  Vedas should be recited during Abhishegam, Neivethyam, showing of Dhoopam and Deepam.

13.2  Towards the end of Abhishegam, Neivethyam and Dhoopa Deeepam  devotees should sing devotional hymns praising the God/Goddess.
13.3  On completion of the recital Vedas(or during the recital Vedas  from another place in the hall) the Tamil Thirumarai{the twelve sacred saiva (siddhantha and purana)works in tamil} and other devotional songs must be sung.

13.4  OTHUVARS: Persons who recite/sing the Thirumarai with ragam are called Othuvars or Othuva moorthis.

13.5  PAN(Musical Melody):  A woman musical exponent who came in the linage of Thiru Neelakandaa Yaazhppanar who played  on YAAZH(A form of veena) for Thirugnana Sambandar has set the melody for the Thirumarai. Though there were 10n Pan(Musical melody) now only 23 Pan only are available.

13.6 A comparison of  Musical similarity:  The swaras equivalent to the seven musical notes as found in Tamil Pan(musical Melody) 1. ILI: “SA”  Shatjamam   2. VILARI: “RI” Rishabam   3. Dhaaram: “KA” kaanthaaram   4. Kural:  “M” Maththimam   5. Dhuththam:  “PA” Panchamam 6. Kaikilai:  “tha” Daivatham   7. UZHZI:   “NI” Nishadaham

13.7  The ragas for the songs:  All songs in Thiruvasagam are set in Mohana Raagam All songs in Thiruvisaippa and Thiruppallandu are set to the raga Ananda Bhairavi. All songs of Periya Puranam are set to the raga Mathyamavathi. It is not advisable to sing by changing the ragas meant for each.

13.8  The Ragas for Pan(Musical melody):  Thirumurai songs must be sung by those who learnt those Pans  as per the pan only. Those who have not learnt the Tamil Music, can sing in carnatic music ragas equivalent to the Pan.
