Perumal is a swayambumurthi in this temple. There is a small pond nearby the temple. When the pond reaches the full level, Namakatti (as the sacred ash, namakatti is used by Vaishnavites for the forehead symbol called Namam-tilak).
Generally Neem tree and neem leaves are attributed to Shakti worship. In this temple Vanavenkatesa Perumal graces the devotees from under this tree for the past four centuries. | |
