The important kitchen in which the Neivedyam(food offering) is prepared is called POTTU. The godess here is called Pottu amman. The meaning of the word pottu amman is  Kitchen lady.  She is also called as MADAPALLI NACHIYAR.  It is believed that this woman is none other than Vahula devi sent by Varaha swamy who offered a place to Srinivasan for staying in Tirumala. This woman only made all arrangements for the marriage of Srinivasan with Padmavathi. Special poojas are offered for this woman on varalakshmi vratha day. There is an stone idol for Mahalakshmi in another kitchen. In this kitchen AnnaPrasadam(rice food offering)Paniyaram,Laddu, Vadai,Appam are prepared. This small kitchen is called PADI POTTU.

TIRUPATHI INCOME: The income from hair out of tonsured head annually itself is more than Rs. 100 crores. Through ticket also the annual income is Rs. 100 crores.

Income through donations apart from Hundiyal income is Rs. 100 crores. Those who donate from Rupees one lakh to five Lakhs  can stay upto five persons in the special V.I.P COTTAGES AND HAVE A SPECIAL DARSHAN. They will be provided with one vasthram(cloth) and six laddus. Those who donate from five lakhs to ten lakhs will be allowed free stay three days. They will be presented with one vasthram,ten maha prasadam pocket, ten small laddus. Those who donate more than Ten lakhs and above can stay free (five persons) for five days and have a darshan. They are allowe to witness the pooja held after archana. . First timers of this category will be given a 5gm gold coin and gold plated silver medal. Every year ten maha prasada ticket and twenty small laddus wil be given.  Income tax exemption is there for this donation.

Donations can be given for building cottages as per rules at Tirupathi. They will be allowed to stay free for one month at Tirupathi. But at a stretch they can stay only for ten days.  The Venkateswara library at Tirupathi was established in 1993. It contains Forty thousand books are there on Hindu Religious history. These books are available in English and Hindi languages also.
