	Mother Ujjaini Ambica is installed at a distance of one furlong exactly opposite Lord Nataraja temple.

	Special pujas are conducted in the temple on the Margazhi Thiruvadhirai day for women awaiting marriage and for long married life ensuring the longevity of their Mangal Sutras – known as Dheerga Sumangali Bagyam boon – healthy life, relief from mental illness and for students seeking high ranks in education.

	Devotees offer Thiruvadhirai Kali – a sweet pudding – nivedhana besides yellow rice and panchamirtha also.

	Greatness Of Temple:

	Besides the Thiruvadhirai worship and offering nivedhanas of kinds for Mangal sutra boons for women and other purposes mentioned above, they distribute the Thiruvadhirai Kali nivedhanas to other devotees coming to the temple. Lord Nataraja graces the devotees in His cosmic dancing posture. On Mondays and Thursdays devotees offer a garland made of a pulse called Kondai Kadalai in Tamil. Kerala people see Lord Nataraja as Lord Dakshinamurthi to whom this garland is dedicated. There is also an abishek bowl – Dhara Patra – above Lord Nataraja as placed above Shiva Lingas. This worship protects the devotee from fear of death.

	Temple History:

	During the rule of Maharaja Moolam Tirunal, a garden of flowers was created for the puja needs of Lord Padmanabha Swami. There was a Nataraja temple in this place without any puja to Lord. In course of time, housing colonies and shops appeared around this garden. But people had to face many problems then. The Deva Prashnam – the prediction science practised in Kerala – revealed that the neglect of pujas to Lord Nataraja and the existence of Mutharamman temple opposite Nataraja temple at a distance of about half a kilometer were the causes of the woes of the people. The prashnam advised installation of Ambica with an Akshaya Patra – a divine bowl in which food will never exhaust – to end the problems of the people. Accordingly, the idol of Mother Ujjaini Matha was installed at a distance of one furlong opposite the Nataraja temple. Pujas began in the temple. Problem of the people of the place came to an end returning all happiness and peace.
