Devotees offer vastras to Lord and Mother and light ghee lamps in the shrine.

 Greatness Of Temple:

Milk for abishek and oil for lighting deepas in temples around Arur were supplied from this place – Aikudi in the past.  Those coming in cart to Aikudi to take the supply materials from this temple also enjoyed a bath in the temple tank and the darshan of Lord and Mother.  They relaxed here for a while, had the prasadas for their food before carrying the milk and oil to other temples.

  Temple History:

Even today, there are a number of temples around Tiruvarur in Chola region.  A village was developed here as a central point for the supply of milk and other necessary materials for the daily pujas in these temples.  This is that village Aikudi.  Lord Kailasanathar is the presiding deity of the temple accompanied by Mother Soundarya Nayaki.
