  Temple History:

It is believed that the temple should be as old as 1500 years surrounded by thick forests.  While searching for their lost cattle, the people in the area found a Shivalinga.  They began deforestation work then.  They decided to build a temple and sought the advice of His Holiness Manjakudi Dayananda Saraswathi.  They also approached one Jagannatha Swami in Coimbatore-Thadagam.  As Lord Shiva protects people from fear of the God of Death, they named Him as Mrutyanjeeswarar and began the construction work with the support of His Holiness Swami Dayananda Saraswathi and Mr. Kannan of Sri Ram Group.  Completing the construction successfully, the consecration was grandly celebrated in January, 2014.  The temple is under the management of Sri Srinivasan, brother of His Holiness.
