	Temple's Speciality:

	There is a Nandhi before Veerabadra shrine which can be turned to any side. Women pray to this Nandhi for safe delivery of child. It is praised as Santhana Nandhi.

	General Information:

	There are shrines for Lords Vara Siddhi Vinayaka, Vel Muruga, in front of Sri Veerabadra shrine. Shrines for Vara Siddheswarar, Mangala Gouri Amman, Lord Dakshinamurthy, Nagar and Navagrahas are in the prakara. The Suruttapalli temple where Lord Shiva appears on the lap of Mother Parvathi is just 20 km far from this place.

	Greatness Of Temple:

	There is a Bana Linga right of Sri Veerabadra in the sanctum sanctorum. After puja to Sri Veerabadra, puja is offered to Bana Linga. Sri Veerabadra is also praised as Guru Veerabadra as He is facing south, a direction attributed to Lord Dakshinamurthy. Those aspiring excellence in arts and academic fields worship here offering a garland made of a pulse called Kondai Kadalai in Tamil. People also perform Homas for relief from planetary adversities. A fee of Rs. 300 is charged for Rahu-Ketu parihara puja and Rs. 1,000/= for other parihara pujas. Sri Veerabadra-Mother Badrakali wedding festival is celebrated on Chitra Poornima day in April-May. Maha Shivrathri is celebrated for three days with 5 time pujas with Lingodhbava puja. A bathing vastra is on Sri Veerabadra’s waist during abishek, but there will be no vastra during this puja. The philosophy is that Lord is above all formalities and that on the last day, every one has to leave every belonging and go nude. After this puja, Annabishek is offered to Sri Veerabadra and Bana Linga. There is a Nandhi opposite Sri Veerabadra shrine designed as such that it turns all sides. Devotees pray for safe delivery of the child. It is not necessary that the devotee should be pregnant woman. A senior member of the family comes, prays and turns the Nandhi towards the direction of the house. It is believed that this ensures safe delivery of a healthy child. The Nandhi is praised as Santhana Nandheeswarar. Even those not having a child pray to this Nandhi. Special pujas are dedicated to Nandhi during Pradosha time – 4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. each day.

	Temple History:

	Centuries ago, Shiva devotees around Sathyvedu desired to build a temple for Sri Veerabadra. A sculptor made the idol perfectly. While taking the idol on a bullock cart, the axis broke. After repairs, when devotees tried to place the idol on the cart, they could not even move it. A voice was heard that the idol may be installed in that place itself. Obeying to the divine voice, devotees installed the idol here and built the temple.

	Miracle Based: There is a Nandhi in front of Sri Veerabadra shrine. It can be turned to any side the devotee desires.
