10 day Chithirai festival drawing a huge crowd in April May; Vaikasi Visakam milk pot in May-June; Aani Tirumanjanam in June July, Lord selling fire wood in Aavani-August-September; Purattasi Navarathri in September-October; Aipasi Skanda Sashti in October-November; Karthikai in November-December; Margazhi Arudra Darshan in December-January; Thai Poosam in January-February, Shivarathri in February-March and Panguni Uthiram in March-April are the festivals grandly celebrated in the temple.
Temple's Speciality:
Shivalinga in the temple is a swayambumurthi with a cut scar. Mother is seen with a face ever sweating. The great marvel of the temple is that the Lord looks as tall as the view or bhakti of the devotee. The symbol of an armour is seen on the body of the Lord showing that a king embraced him once. If the bones of the dead are dissolved in Surabi river, they become stones, according to belief.
