As advised by the Lord, he proceeded to worship Mother Gowmari on the banks of Mullai River, who restored the vision of one eye. To get the vision of the other eye restored, Goddess advised the king to worship Lord Shiva in the Linga form which She was worshipping. The king got back the vision of both eyes after following the advice of Goddess.
The Lord advised the king to build a temple. The king devotionally did it. Kanneeswaram Udayar temple came into being.
