Temple History: | |
|
|
|
|
The idol of Mother Masani Amman was in clay about a hundred
years back. The temple ground was a
cremation yard earlier. Devotees made
the clay idol and were performing only Mayana Pooja – puja in the cremation
ground. But the idol was dissolved in
rain. After the Mayana Pooja celebrated
about 24 years back, people again made a clay idol that did not dissolve in
rain but was drying under the hot sun.
People began to believe in the power of the Amman then. They built the temple with the
funds they could contribute to the best of their abilities. This is next famous to the Masani Amman
temple in Pollachi. Devotees throng the
temple from others districts also. The
priests worked in the temple simply to serve Mother Amman. Presently, the temple has come under the
control of Hindu Religious Endowment Board.
