 General Information:

Though this region was a jungle many years ago, it is presently in the central locality of Vadavalli.  When problems arose about the administration of the temple, the elders of the place gathered together and created a Trust in the name of Lord Vinayaka.  They also installed Madurai Meenakshi Amman, Lord Muruga and Nagadevadas in the temple complex.  Many in this place consider this temple as the only Dhyna Peeta for them to realize peace.   Many devotees visiting the temple say that the idol of Lord Muruga here is identical to that of the Lord in Palani.

People consider this temple quite suitable for meditation.  Though being at the centre of the place amidst usual and possible noises, it still offers a divine peace.  The Arasa Maram and a neem tree in the temple are a century old.  Hence, the place has a cool atmosphere.  With the availability of conveyance facilities, the temple assumes greater importance:

  Temple History:

The landmark of the place is the century old Arasa Maram.  The sculptor who made the Vinayaka idol belonged a backward community and was facing the cruelties of untouchability.  A shepherd boy wanted a Vinayaka temple here as he saw in another village.  Then people in the place, forgetting caste differences, joined together and created this temple, it is said.  With the passage of time, the temple grew to the size it is today.  The Trust, managing the affairs of the temple works  with a single mind, shedding communal differences.
