Temple History: | |
The name Melakkal of the place is based on the fame of this temple. The people of the village decided to dig a tank for harvesting the rain water which was going waste. While digging in the jungle area, the villagers found these idols at a depth of 15 feet. Some the villagers were possessed with some divine power. They built the temple at the place they dig for making a tank. Aiyanar Swami became their family deity.
