  Temple History:

A chieftain Keddi Mudali by name ruling this region came to this place which was then a jungle.  Despite long efforts, he could not find any animal for hunting.  Weary, he relaxed here for a while.  His men tried to bind the horse at a place.  The horse refused to stand there, jumped and stopped at a different place.  His men could not find anything there, but while digging the place, found a Shivalinga.  Happy chieftain installed the Linga there and performed pujas.  The temple was built later.
