The three muhurtham moments
On the morning of 17 September the maha kumbabishekam falls in three distinct moments: 7.40, 7.55 and 8.10.
Why this order
The golden vimanams and rajagopurams first, then the moolavar Meenakshi Amman, and finally the moolavar Sundareswarar. The sequence moves inward, from the outer fabric of the temple to the sanctums.
Fifteen minutes separate each moment, which makes the half hour between 7.40 and 8.10 the peak of the entire festival.
