The city's biggest festival. The coronation of Meenakshi, her digvijayam, the divine wedding with Sundareswarar and the car festival follow in sequence. In the same period Kallazhagar travels from Azhagar Kovil to descend into the Vaigai, and the two together draw crowds in the hundreds of thousands.
